The Opportunity:
Perkins Eastman's Oakland Studio is seeking a skilled and motivated Architectural Designer II to join our West Coast team. This role provides the chance to work on a variety of architectural projects, including K-12 and higher education facilities, transit and urban infrastructure, and urban design and planning. The ideal candidate will utilize their advanced design skills to make a significant impact on our projects. We are looking for a professional who can independently tackle and creatively solve design and project challenges while collaborating effectively with the Perkins Eastman team to deliver design outcomes that surpass the expectations of clients and stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
Project Support: Report directly to Project Managers on individual projects, providing support in Building Design and Planning. Utilize industry-standard tools such as 3D BIM Modeling in Revit, Bluebeam Revu, Rhino, Enscape, and various graphic design tools including Affinity Designer.
Design Phase Assistance: Engage from the Pre-Schematic Phase through to Construction Documents and Construction Administration. This includes developing pre-schematic concepts for marketing pursuits and preparing presentations for proposals and interviews.
Design Documentation Preparation: Prepare programs, concepts, design development, and construction documents in 3D for client review and approval.
Construction Drawings and Detailing: Assist in the preparation of construction drawings and detailing for contractors.
Consultant Coordination: Assist in the coordination of consultant teams, including MEP, Structural, Civil, and Landscape. Coordinate project teams to ensure that projects meet design intent, program, budget, and schedule.
Code Compliance: Review building codes to ensure designs comply with legal standards.
Construction Administration Support: Review RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings during the construction administration phase.
Material and Presentation Preparation: Prepare finished material sample boards, physical models, and graphic presentations for client approval.

What we offer you:
Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographical work location.
Salary Range: $71,000 to $82,000.
